MRP Reissue discontinued in 7 Bangladesh missions (including Washington, DC)
This is for kind information of all concerned that the enrolment of the applications for reissue of MRP (Machine Readable Passport) has been discontinued in seven Bangladesh missions (including Washington, DC) in which e-passport has been introduced vide Memo no. 58.01.0000.202.35.074.21-151, dated 09 February 2021 of the Department of Immigration and Passports, Dhaka. Until further notice, the applicants are requested to apply for e-passport instead of MRP reissue following the instructions in the link given below:
Please check the status of your MRP reissue application at www.bdembassyusatracking.org. If you find Enrolment ID, you are not affected by the decision of the discontinuation. However, if you do not find Enrolment ID, your application remains halted. You may either wait till the first week of March 2022 to see if the authority in Dhaka reconsiders the decision or you may apply for e-passport.
As MRP enrolment module of Washington DC mission has been disconnected from Dhaka, hence it is not at all possible at the moment to enrol any MRP reissue application. After completing the application procedure of e-passport, if the applicant comes to the Embassy, s/he can get back their MRP application package. If the applicant wants to get it back early, s/he needs to send an email to pvwing.washdc@gmail.com.
In case of the MRP reissue applications which have been received by the Embassy but remain unenrolled, the payment of fees will be adjusted if they come to apply for e-passport. While paying for e-passport by money order or cashier check or official check during biometic enrolment at the Embassy, if the fee for your e-passport is higher than the amount of fee you have already paid, you only need to pay the remaining amount. However, if the fee for your e-passport is lesser, you do not need to make any further payment and you will not get any refund either. Alternatively, you may bring a new money order or cashier check or official check if you want to get back the one submitted for MRP reissue.
The Embassy will let the applicants know if the enrolment of MRP reissue is reconsidered by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dhaka.
